PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) is effective as of May 22, 2026, by BENCHMARK APP LLC, a Vermont limited liability company with a place of business in Williston, Vermont (“Benchmark”).
The App. Benchmark provides a mobile and web-based application (the “App”) designed for members of youth hockey programs and their coaches. The App is intended to support athletic development and team coordination by enabling users to: (a) track individual training activities and performance progress; (b) set, monitor, and review personal and team-related goals; and (c) manage schedules, including practices, games, and related events.
The App is made available to athletes and, where applicable, their parents, legal guardians, coaches, and team administrators (“User”, or collectively “Users”), for use solely in connection with youth hockey participation.
COPPA. If a User is under the age of thirteen (13) (“Child”, or collectively “Children”) the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (collectively, “COPPA”) requires Benchmark to inform parents and legal guardians (“Parent”, or collectively “Parents”) about Benchmark’s practices for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from Children. It also requires Benchmark to obtain verifiable consent from a Child’s Parent for the collection, use, and disclosure of the Child’s personal information. As used in this Policy, Users includes Children, because Benchmark applies the same data collection and handling practices to individuals under thirteen (13) as it does to those age thirteen (13) or older, except that Benchmark obtains verifiable consent from a Child’s Parent before collecting or processing a Child’s personal information.
The Policy notifies Parents of: (a) the types of information Benchmark may collect from Users; (b) how Benchmark uses the information it collects; (c) Benchmark’s practices for disclosing that information, including specific information about third parties; (d) Benchmark’s practices for notifying and obtaining Parents’ consent when Benchmark collects personal information from Users, including how a Parent may revoke consent; (e) and all operators that collect or maintain information from Users through the App.
Information Collected from Users. Benchmark collects limited information necessary to operate the App, which may include a username, a Parent’s email address, a user’s email address, and messages sent through the App, including messages exchanged through the AI Coach, as defined below. Benchmark may use persistent identifiers to support internal operations, including but not limited to, development and performance analysis, personalized player support, resources and recommendations. Benchmark uses reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards, including limiting access to persistent identifiers, restricting their use to internal operations, and prohibiting their use for behavioral advertising or profiling, to ensure that persistent identifiers are not used or disclosed to contact an individual, to create a profile, or for any other purpose, except as permitted under COPPA to provide support for the internal operations of the App. Benchmark does not collect precise geolocation information and does not collect information for targeted advertising or marketing purposes. Benchmark only collects as much information about Users as is reasonably necessary for the User to participate in the App’s services, and Benchmark does not condition a User’s participation on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
Use of Information. Benchmark uses information collected through the App solely to operate and support the App, including providing messaging and scheduling features, tracking training progress and goals, ensuring User safety, communicating with Parents, and complying with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Benchmark does not use Children’s personal information for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the App’s youth hockey activities. Benchmark does not sell personal information.
AI Coach. The App includes a secure, proprietary AI-powered coaching feature (the “AI Coach”). The AI Coach is designed to help interpret performance data and offer personalized support and training recommendations. The AI Coach is not open source. Information submitted through the feature may be processed to provide personalized training insights, and is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Our Practices for Disclosing Users’ Information. Benchmark does not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose personal information collected through the App except as necessary to operate and support the App. Information may be shared solely with third-party service providers that perform services on Benchmark’s behalf and are contractually required to use the information only for such purposes, to maintain its confidentiality, and to implement appropriate security measures. Benchmark does not permit service providers to use personal information for their own marketing or advertising purposes. In addition, Benchmark may disclose personal information where it is required to do so by law or if Benchmark believes disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the safety of Users.
Data Retention. Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the specific purpose(s) for which the information was collected.
Accessing and Correcting Your Child’s Personal Information. At any time, Parents may review their Child’s personal information maintained by Benchmark, require Benchmark to correct or delete the personal information, and/or refuse to permit Benchmark from further collecting or using the Child’s information. To exercise these rights, a Parent may contact Benchmark at support@benchmarkgoals.com. To protect your privacy and security, Benchmark may require you to take certain steps or provide additional information to verify your identity before Benchmark provide any information or make corrections.
Operators That Collect or Maintain Information from Children. No other third-party operators may collect or maintain personal information from Children through the App.
